Position Summary
This position is responsible for setting up and using CNC grinders to complete
customer orders as well as performing final inspections to ensure there are no
defects in the customer’s orders. This full time, non-exempt position is based in
Little Chute, Wisconsin and reports to the Shop Lead and Director of Operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and minimum of three years of related
experience required - Ability to be extremely effective independently, with little supervision
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize
multiple tasks seamlessly - Professional written and oral communication skills
Physical Demands and Working Environment
- Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, use hands and
fingers to handle materials, reach with hands and arms, lift up to 40 pounds,
use close, distance, peripheral, and color vision to view equipment and
products, use depth perception while handling materials, and adjust focus
while viewing equipment and products. - Work takes place in an indoor production environment with adequate
ventilation. There will be exposure to lifting and carrying items, vibration, and
a typically loud noise level. - Moderate physical activity will take place to perform somewhat strenuous
daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.

Essential Job Functions
To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation*, each essential function satisfactorily.
- Must be capable of using; calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gage, surf tester, bore gages, and operate the CMM
- Set up and run rotary surface grinders
- Must be able to set up and run the 5 axis Walter grinder
- Must hold tolerance of +/- .001” (be able to use shims, etc., to obtain and hold the necessary tolerances).
- Follow instruction printed on the job traveler that accompanies the product to be worked on.
- Fill out required paperwork (QC sheets and time sheets); neatly, completely and accurately.
- Perform preventative maintenance and 5S on machines and work area.
- Change coolants and grinding stones as required.
- Perform final etching on manufactured parts.
- Must be able to set up and run the centrifugal polishing machine.
- Perform 1st piece and SPC required inspection of parts as dictated by the quantity of product sharpened.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of operations/processes within the department/company.
- Interact with the Machining Department on timeliness of performing operations.
- Interact with the Director of Operations on maintaining inventory of supply items.
- Follow all company work/safety rules established by the company.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Shop Lead or Director of Operations.
- Must be able to chamfer parts on the manual lathes.
- Must be able to set up and run the 16X32 surface grinder.
- Must be able to set up/ write programs/ edit programs and run the following machines; OD grinder and ID grinder
- Must be able to train other to perform the duties of the manufacturing department
- Must possess knowledge of the machine capabilities in the manufacturing grinding department.
- Must be able to handle both internal and external customer
- problems/complaints/questions upon request.
